JangHeung Art Park

If you are looking for something fun to do one afternoon with your childen, then try the JungHeung Art Park. It is an outdoor/indor art park. There are plenty of things for children to play on and climb in.
All signs are in Korean however it is fairly easy to figure out prices, and the cashier will show you on a calculator what you need to pay. For a family of 3: 2 adults and 1 child it cost 16,000 Won.
Directions: From CRC head south on 39.  Go through underpass then stay to the right and continue on 39.  Continue on 39 and go through a 2nd tiny underpass.  About 2.3kilometers past this you will take a right turn, almost 130-degree-angle and you will be on a tiny little two lane road.  Follow this little road and you will see what appears to be small amusement park rides on the right. To the left is the Art Park.
This is the last underpass you will go through before you get there.

This is where you make that crazy right turn onto 371.

This is the 371 after you turn onto it.

Yang Ju Coffee Group

I have started a Coffee Group for all spouses that live in or near the Sindo Branew apartments in Yangju.  I encourage other spouses to do the same thing at their apartment complex.  It can feel pretty isolated living out on the economy in Area 1, but it doesn't have to be that way.  There are quite a  few families living in this area now.  Having a coffee once or twice a month will help us to get to know each other and share information.
If any spouses are in this area feel free to email me if you would like to come to the next coffee.  There will be two scheduled in August.

French Bakeries

Korea does have French Bakeries around. This particular bakery was in Yang Ju, which is just about 5 miles from post. The way you get served in the bakeries is different. Notice the trays by the entrance and the tongs, hanging next to them. You get a paper lined tray as you come in, grab your own tongs and then serve yourself what you want, then pay the the items. Right next to this bakery is also a Cold Stone Creamery. Most menus you come across in Korea with be both Korean and English. Others will at least have pictures to help you select what you want. This bakery also has a nice little place to sit and enjoy your treats.
