USFK TCCOR Advisory for Typhoon 08W - Kompasu

Storm is going to be tracking right over the top of us. You can see Yangju partiall cut off by the red marker on Uijeongbu.
This is just an update from USFK.

TROPICAL CYCLONE CONDITION OF READINESS (TCCOR) 2 was issued for Areas I, II, and III on 01 Sep 10 at 0800L.

Max winds expected:
  • Area I: Gust >50Kt starting on 02/0800L-02/2300L
  • USAG-Red Cloud: Peak wind 50G75Kt at 02/1500L

Typhoon Kompasu is forecast to make landfall on the northwestern coast of the Korean Peninsula at 02/1400L. Expect the storm strength to slowly weaken as it exits the eastern coast.

  • Rainfall from 4-6 inches can be expected in Areas I, II, and III.
  • Maximum wind expected is 75 knots for Areas I,II, and 70 knots for Areas III, and 65 knots for Area IV.
  • Wave Heights of 16-19 feet are forecast for the West Sea.
