The thousands upon thousands of speakers playing pop in Seoul's streets, markets and restaurants might create the misconception that rock music has no fans here. Think again: in addition to the ever-widening year-round stream of big rock names that perform here, in summer the genre goes into overdrive with a number of rock festivals boasting world-class lineups. The first of these is Incheon Pentaport, on the weekend of July 23---25. With a lineup that includes LCD Soundsystem, Hoobastank, Kishidan, Air Traffic, Dir En Grey, Ego-Wrappin', Kap10Kurt, Ian Brown, Gang Sa_ne, Galaxy Express, The Like, Ninesin, Biuret, Strikers, YunHoe, Oh JieunLee, and even Wagdug Futuristic Unity, anyone with half a vague interest in rock would be insane to even consider missing Pentaport.
