Students who attend Department of Defense Education Activity schools are required to have two doses of Varicella vaccine, which will prevent chicken pox, DoDEA officials said. The DoDEA Immunization Children who have already had chicken pox do not need the booster. Once a child gets the second vaccine the school nurse must be provided a copy of the student’s updated shot records.
